Peace and Security

FES has been engaged since 2014 in promoting international peace and cooperation which are the core principles of Myanmar’s foreign policy. It has worked substantively with the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies (MISIS) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) to create platforms and discussions on relevant international relations topics and in creating international linkages.

MISIS can contribute to the foreign and security policy discourse through articles and public discussions. Furthermore, MISIS pursues the establishment and extension of international networks with other think tanks in order to reintegrate the Myanmar expert community into global debates. In cooperation between MISIS and FES, engagements with European think tanks have provided dialogue platforms to engage and promote European/German–Myanmar relations.
